Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Chorderoy (“Chorderoy,” “we,” “us”) is a chord-and-lyric player for musicians, made by Studio Louise. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We collect only what the app needs to work: your account, the songs and setlists you save, and — if you connect Apple Music — the titles and artists in your library so we can match them to chord sheets.
- The microphone is used only for the tuner, in real time, on your device. We never record or store audio.
- Songs you import are added to a shared, public song catalog other Chorderoy users can browse.
- We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, right from the app.
Account information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive and store a user identifier and — depending on what you choose to share — your name, email address, and profile photo. We use this to create your account, keep you signed in, and show your profile. Sign-in is handled through Sign in with Apple and Google OAuth; we never see your Apple or Google password.
Content you create
- Saved songs and setlists are stored on our servers so they’re available across your devices and sessions.
- Songs you import (by pasting text, a link, or a file) are processed by our service and added to Chorderoy’s shared public catalog, which is browsable by all users. Please don’t import content you don’t have the right to share, or anything you intend to keep private.
Apple Music
If you connect Apple Music, the app reads your music library and recently played songs on your device and sends only the song titles and artists to our service to find matching chord sheets. We don’t access your Apple Music credentials or playback controls, we don’t collect your listening history beyond what’s needed for matching, and we don’t store a copy of your library.
Microphone (the tuner)
The tuner uses your microphone to detect pitch in real time, entirely on your device. Audio is never recorded, saved, or transmitted, and the microphone is active only while the tuner is open.
Live sessions
When you host or join a live session, we relay a session code and playback information — which song, position, tempo, and transport state — between participants through our service so everyone stays in sync. No audio is captured or transmitted.
How your data is stored and shared
Your account and content are stored on servers operated on our behalf by our cloud hosting provider. We share data only with the service providers needed to run Chorderoy — for example our hosting provider, and Apple and Google for sign-in. We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
Beta testing (TestFlight)
While Chorderoy is in beta, Apple may share crash reports and any feedback you submit through TestFlight with us so we can fix problems. That sharing is governed by Apple’s TestFlight terms.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account data until you delete it. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → your account), which removes your account, sign-in identities, saved songs, setlists, and profile photo from our systems. Songs you’ve already contributed to the shared public catalog may remain available to other users.
Children
Chorderoy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll post the new version here and update the “last updated” date above.
